Wildlights at the Columbus Zoo

We took the kids to see the lights at the zoo. How lucky we are to have such a great zoo so close to home. Here Brenna and Braeden are indoors watching the models trains. What a great exibit especially for boys Braeden's age.
After checking out the trains they decided to ice cookies with Mrs. Claus. Braeden iced a Christmas Tree and Brenna iced a Star.

The lights at the zoo this year were more fantastic than ever...this year they moved to all LED lights. These lights not only save on energy, but they are so much brighter that normal lights. Also, the lights this year were set up to music! I think the zoo did a show to about 4 christmas songs, pretty cool!

What is a trip to the zoo without riding the carousel?
.....This gave a chance to warm up too! Brrrrrrr

This is Brenna at Red, White, and Boom in downtown Columbus on July 3rd, 2001. In this picture Brenna would be 2 years and 8 months old! We go downtown every year to see the fireworks. I have a picture of her every year since she was born in her red, white, and blue! This picture makes me so sad, I miss this age! Hey, that makes me realize that I would have only been 25! I miss that age too!

Breakfast with Santa

On December 13th went had Breakfast with Santa at Brenna's school.
Braeden and Kadan are posing for a picture with the school mascot dressed in a Santa outfit. I thought it was kinda creepy, but the kids had fun trying to pull of it's head!

Brenna and her friend Addie pose in front of the Letters for Santa box that Brenna and I made for the event.
Check out Brenna catching her breakfast! Chris's cakes, which makes the pancakes for the event, tosses each pancake for you to catch, or in many cases....drop :-)

Going to see Santa

We visited Santa this year at Tuttle Mall. The kids were so excited to tell Santa that all they want this year is the Nintendo Wii and a Trampoline! They decided since there was two of them, they would each ask for just one of the things. That way Santa would have to get them both. Sneaky aren't they.....

Putting up the Christmas Tree

Well, I wish we could say that we traveled many, many miles and walked through many feet of snow to pick out the perfect Christmas tree, but I can't. Again, we put up what we think is the perfect tree. Our little fake tree. The kids love to help put it together piece by piece. A family traditon. This year cousin Elizabeth was here to help put up the tree.

They all had a great time decorating the tree and the house.

Every year Brenna is lifted to the top to place the Angel on the tree. This is the very last thing that is done before we turn on the tree lights. This year Braeden wanted to put the angel on the top, but he instead choose to be the one who could turn off the lights when the tree was turned on..more dramatic and fun for him :-)

Thanksgiving

We have so much to be Thankful for. It is so nice to get together with family. Here is a picture of all the cousins (the boys were playing video games most of the day :-))
Left to Right: Braeden, Joshlyn, Madison, Brenna, Dilan, Cameren, and Kadan

Mommy and Brenna. My baby is getting so big.

Pre-Thanksgiving

Brenna and Braeden wanted to help cook this year. They helped to make the stuffing we bring every year to grandmas!
Who wouldn't love to mix all the ingredients with your hands. The messier the better!

After we were all done, Braeden asked to help wash dishes. YES, I said it. Braeden wanted to help wash dishes. :-) It is funny how something you may hate to do can be so enjoyable when you do it with your kids.

Brenna's First Cheerleading Competition

Brenna had her first cheerleading competition on November 15th. She cheers for the Westland Cougars Youth Junior Squad. The team competed in a group competition and Brenna choose to also compete in an individual. The girls did awesome, they took home 2nd place in the team competition. " Way to go girls"!!!! As for Brenna's individual, no trophy, but we are so proud of her! She did very, very, well. I think she should have taken 1st :-) She was just so peppy and confident. It seemed as if she wasn't even nervous to be in front of a crowd of people. A Natural.

The night before the competition the girls all got together at the coaches house for pizza and to do thier hair and nails. Nice curlers girls :-)

This competition was a great experience for Brenna. She loved it. As for me, I was so nervous for her that everyone around me was laughing. So, who was more nervous me or her?....definately me!

Trick or Treat

What a group of little trick or treaters we had. Some of them made it the whole 2 hours, but most only made it till 7. All the same we have way too much candy in the house!!

Uncle T.J., like always, dresses up with the kids for Halloween.
What a sport.
This year my little goblins dressed up as a Ninja and a Spider Witch. They sure loved playing the part....

Party Time

Okay, so Brenna did get a chance to celebrate her birthday. We started with a trip to the Circleville Pumpkin Show with all the cousins, grandma, grandpa, and some friends.

Then she celebrated with her friends from school...SLEEPOVER!!!!!
The girls all got glammed up and put on a fashion show. I'm not sure who had more fun, me or them. It was so much fun helping them with their hair and make up, I felt like a kid again. However, I did not feel so much like a kid when 2:30 rolled around and they were still going strong and I was oh so ready for bed! I'm still not sure exactly when they finally went to bed or what phone calls may have been made after I surrendered. :-)

Brenna turns 10!

Brenna is officially (as my dad would say) a Ten-ager!!
10/16
Well, what better way to celebrate your birthday then with cheerleading practice (yuck!.. on your bday).....

Or how about a flu shot? (double yuck....)
Brenna, Braeden, and I all got a flu shot to help celebrate Brenna's birthday(yeah right)... They made me go first! I think I was more scared then they were. Mom was definately the wimp on this one!!

Braeden Starts Kindergarten

Okay, so you must be thinking...it is October, what do you mean Braeden is starting Kindergarten? Well, Mommy and Daddy were not ready for him to start school, so we decided to hold him back one more year and start in 2009 (he is right on the cut-off). Braedens 5th Birthday was September 18th and everyday since he turned 5 he has been asking us to start school. Apparently, he assumed that once he turned 5, he would start school like most of his friends....so we contacted the school and found out we could still enroll him in Kindergarten!! So, upon his request, Braeden started school on October 6th. Crazy I know! But we can tell he already loves it and is just so excited. Braeden told us he is a big boy now and is ready for school, doesn't he look ready?
Mom and Dad were not ready, but we were willing to give it a try
He was just so excited....

New Kids Road Trip

Wow, do you remember the New Kids on the Block? Well, I went on a girls trip this weekend to Chicago to see the NKOTB! What a blast the short trip turned out to be. I went on the trip with (pictured L to R) Danielle, Jackie, Kelly, and Charmae. All of us were so pleasantly surprised that the concert was even better than we expected and it brought back so many memories from many.. many.. years ago.... I love my friends and my sisters and I feel so lucky to be able to have opportunites like this...love ya girls!
